Where: Xavier University, HUB (Health United Building) Room 402 Time: 4:30 pm – Networking Snacks and beverages for sale from University of Cincinnati SOTA 4:45 pm - Business meeting 5:00 – 7:00 pm – Program 7:00 pm – Tours of the NEW Health United Building where Xavier’s OT Program is now located
What: Course Objectives: ⦁ Attendees will be able to describe various levels and approaches to community practice of occupational therapy. ⦁ Attendees will explore the application of principles of justice and ethics in community practice for 3 populations of older adults: ⦁ Families living with dementia ⦁ Older adults in need of home repair or modification ⦁ Latinx older adults participating in a senior center ⦁ Attendees will be able to articulate the re-emerging role of occupational therapy in community and social transformation ⦁ Attendees will consider ways in which they can support transformation toward more just communities through their own practice.
Cost: FREE for MEMBERS! Non-members $35.00 (pay online or at the door)
CEUs: 2.0 ethics contact hours; you may submit as PDUs. To receive the full 2 CEUs, you must be present for the entire program. Reservations are highly encouraged. Attendance without a reservation will be permitted on a first-come basis as space allows.
Directions: You will receive a parking pass as well as a map with details about areas to park and where the building is located earlier in the week leading up to the course.
Materials: Handouts will be emailed out leading up to the course, as these will NOT be provided at the course.
